CT Coronary Angiogram
This is a radiological test during which contrast dye is injected into the vein and images of the blood vessels around the heart (coronary arteries) are acquired a few seconds later. This test assesses for plaque build-up and narrowing of the coronary arteries. It picks up early coronary artery disease from which you may have no symptoms of, to more advanced disease for which you may need more definitive treatment such as stents placed or bypass surgery.
