Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart. During this test a qualified cardiac sonographer acquires images of your heart. It checks all the structural components of your heart including the size and function of the heart chambers, valve function, large blood vessel connections to the heart and haemodynamic status. The heart is viewed from various sites over the chest wall. The test takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
